mentorship network.

The purpose of the Preservation In Color Mentorship Network is to bring Black and Brown novice historic preservationists in connection with professional historic preservation experts to help them build their own toolbox of knowledge. This network will provide a list of professional points of contact that can be researched and one can make direct contact with through their provided contact information. We want to build and increase the number of Black and Brown professional historic preservationists to help preserve our history.

If you are seeking mentorship, Preservation In Color will not be responsible for initiating communication with the mentors. Research your mentor of interest prior to initiating communication. Be intentional about what you desire from your mentorship. This is your opportunity to build your network.

“Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living—if you do it well I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor.” – Denzel Washington
